Disneyland Paris 25th Anniversary April 2017

This year Disneyland Paris celebrates its 25th anniversary of the parks opening. And in true Disney fashion the park and characters are decked out in the celebratory theme which is Blue and Silver.
I visited the park for its 20th anniversary but I don't remember it being anywhere near as big or extravagant as the 25th.
On the days actual opening they had a special anniversary ceremony with the biggest and best parade I have ever seen, with characters who no longer make appearances in the park.
I watched that from home, and while it looked amazing it also looked jam packed as I know people had come from all around the world to visit for this special occasion.

Crowd Status In April
In the past year since having my annual pass it has given me the chance to visit twice before this time in April, and both of those trips have been super quiet which is unusual for a Disney park made it made it easy to walk around and to get on all the rides.
This time however was a completely different story, we visited the week after the big celebration day which I didn't even realise was that week when I decided to book.
Even though we went when all the children were back at school and after the celebration it was insanely busy and a lot of the merchandise had sold out the week before.
However we still had the best time celebrating and experiencing all the new features they had brought in for the event. Disneyland Paris has really upped its game within the last year, and it is definitely noticeable.
One of the best parts of the trip was how lucky we got with our hotel room, but I am going to save that for another blog post.

New for the 25th
The parade with its new fire breathing dragon and spectacular illuminations were a great breath of fresh air for the park and Disneyland Paris having new and updated projections on the castle is something the park has been in need of for a long time to keep up with Walt Disney World.
The Castle Stage had a new Happy Birthday Disneyland show which is shown a couple of times per day, and this includes so many characters. So if your looking to see all the characters and get some good photo opportunities  (they pose on stage for these) then I would recommend going to see this show.

Food
My first trip back to Disneyland in September 2016 the Dole Whip copy was nowhere to be seen and in November the cart was closed. However in April we got lucky and found the cart open for business in Adventureland. Being the Disney Foodie that I am and considering how much I love the original Dole Whip, I had to try out Paris's version. However in Disneyland Paris it is known as the Pineapple Float. But as you can see from the photo below it is pretty much exactly the same and tastes just as good too, so if you happen to be lucky enough to catch the cart open in Adventureland then head on over and try it out for yourselves.
Although not pleasingly aesthetic in this picture, BLUE POPCORN. I just had to have some, saw this in April and then did not see it again once I went back in September. Where has all the blue popcorn gone?
Finally star shaped pizzas at Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost, who can resist star shaped food? I definitely can't. This came as a meal with garlic bread and an ice cream.

I had the best time at Disneyland Paris for the 25th back in April and we had the most amazing weather to go with that.

Something else that made it extra special was where we were staying for this trip, which I shall do in a separate blog post so look out for that.

Thanks for reading :)
